At the very end of last year just
before the turn into 2010 the Lord spoke to my heart about a new order
for our local Church. Being a Pastor I am always interested in what the
Lord has to say to me concerning the people I am to shepherd. Now, I do
realise that what He may be saying to us could be different to what He
desires of other Churches. Also I understand that some things the Lord
may be speaking to other Pastors about may be different in some ways to
what He is speaking to me about. We are corporately the Body of Christ,
not only here in Australia, but in every nation of the World. If we
could all see and understand all that the Lord was saying to all the
people in all the Churches in all the World, then we would see the whole
picture. But while we are here on Earth we will all only see in part,
none of us will see and understand the whole picture this side of
Heaven. This is why we all need to be hearing and listening to what the
Lord is saying to us individually, and also corporately in our local
Churches through the ministers.
If each
of us in the body of Christ does his or her share then the Lord will be
able to build His Church as He desires. Jesus knows what He has called
me to do and what he has called our church Living Word Fellowship to do.
We may not know and understand what the end will look like in LWF but He
does. Our part is to follow the Lord’s leadings and instructions one
step at a time, then He will take us all the way with Him until we
arrive at where we are called to be. Faith and trust are both involved
if we are to follow the Lord in this way. We may not understand why we
are to do what He is saying at the time, but if we will trust and obey,
and believe that He is taking us where we need to be, then we are sure
to arrive at the correct destination.
What I
heard in my heart is that we need to do more praying as a Church family
in 2010. Not necessarily longer times of prayer, but to come together
more often to pray. The new order was to not only pray, but to pray and
praise, with the praise happening first. So this is what we have been
doing, coming together more often to pray and commencing with praising
God first. Those of us that have been coming together have to admit that
these times have certainly been a blessing to our lives. The anointing
has been getting stronger in our midst and the Lord has been speaking to
us and showing us things to come. As our Scripture says today, that before
the new things spring forth, He will tell us of them. God wants you
and I to be in the “know” of what is about to happen in our lives.
“However, when He, the Spirit
of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not
speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He
will tell you things to come. John
16:13
If we
could see what was coming up in our life then we could prepare ourselves
for it. But as we can see through the Scriptures God will show us what
is ahead for each of us. The job “we” have is to position ourselves
to hear. And this is what the Lord has been endeavouring to do in our
midst in LWF... through praise and prayer, we are actually positioning
ourselves to receive from the Lord. The Lord is always talking to His
children, but are they always discerning what is being said? The Devil
is always talking also and wants to deceive the Lord’s people. We need
to tune out the voice of the enemy and tune in to the voice of God. Much
more prayer and praise will make it so much easier for you and I to be
in place to hear what God is saying.
It is
God’s will that we pray more...
Rejoice
always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the
will of God in Christ Jesus for you 1Thess 5:16-18
The
Lord longs for our praise. He deserves it you know!
Let
everything that has breath praise the Lord Psalm 150:6
Do
you still have breath in your lungs? Well keep on praising the Lord
then, for He is worthy to receive “all” the praise, honour and glory
both now and forever more.

A New Order
Behold, the former things have come to pass,
and new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them.” Sing
to the Lord a new song, and His praise from the ends of the earth...
