Well here we are again at the end of
another year. It came and went so fast and it seems as though I was only
writing my first 2009 Ps Heart letter only a few days ago. We are
certainly living at the time of the end where the end of one age will
give birth to the beginning of another. This is about to take place on
our earth, the dawning of a brand new day – the Day of the Lord.
Most references to the “Day” of
the Lord in the Bible refer to the day when Jesus will physically return
to the Earth in power and great glory. This day also becomes the first
day of the 1000 year reign of Christ. On that great and awesome Day
Jesus will descend from Heaven to this earth and set His feet on the
mount of Olives as the Scriptures declare. He will destroy the armies of
the Anti Christ and of the False Prophet, and the world will witness its
most terrible frightening day of its history, which will include the
battle scene of Armageddon. On this same day before the sun goes down
Jesus will commence His world wide government rule from the city of
Jerusalem as King of Kings and Lord of Lords - hallelujah!
“For behold, the day is coming,
burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will
be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” says the
Lord of hosts, “that will leave them neither root nor branch. But to
you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing
in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.
You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of
your feet on the day that I do this,” says the Lord of hosts
Malachi 4:1-3
A
Day of the Lord is coming when your plunder will be divided among you. I
will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city
will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the
city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken
from the city. Then the Lord will go out and fight against those
nations, as he fights in the day of battle. On that day His feet will
stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives
will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with
half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. You will flee
by My mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you
fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the
Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him. On that day there
will be no light, no cold or frost. It will be a unique day, without
daytime or night-time—a day known to the Lord. When evening comes,
there will be light. On that day living water will flow out from
Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea and half to the western sea, in
summer and in winter. The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On
that day there will be one Lord, and His name the only Name Zechariah
14:1-9 (NIV)
Our Lord Jesus is the great God of
the universe, He knows what He is doing and He will rule this planet –
commencing on the Day he physically returns. Much of what will take
place on and after that Day is written in the Scriptures for all to see.
Sometimes the Day of the Lord is referring to that one calendar day, at
other times it is referring to the 1000 year Day or millennial reign of
our Lord Jesus Christ. Much of the time it is talking about both, but
Scripture interprets itself along these lines so there need be no
confusion. But one thing is for certain, our Lord Jesus will rule and
reign from this physical planet not many days from now.
As
my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a Son of Man coming
with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led
into his presence. He was given authority, honour, and sovereignty over
all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation
and language would obey Him. His rule is eternal—it will never end.
His kingdom will never be destroyed Daniel 7:13-14 (NLT)
It
will be a reign of righteousness and justice and the Devil will be
locked away for the entire 1000 year period. The saints of the Most High
will be with Jesus and will assist with that righteous rule and natural
man will continue to live on with peace and longevity restored.
He will wear righteousness like a
belt and truth like an undergarment. In that day the wolf and the lamb
will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The
calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child
will lead them all. The cow will graze near the bear. The cub and the
calf will lie down together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. The baby
will play safely near the hole of a cobra. Yes, a little child will put
its hand in a nest of deadly snakes without harm. Nothing will hurt or
destroy in all my holy mountain, for as the waters fill the sea, so the
earth will be filled with people who know the Lord. In that day the heir
to David’s throne will be a banner of salvation to all the world. The
nations will rally to him, and the land where he lives will be a
glorious place Isaiah 11:5-10
Yes
there are glorious days to come upon our earth where there will be a
rest for the land and its people. I am looking forward to it as I am
sure you are also. But it won’t happen in 2010 because there are other
events that must take place according to the Scriptures. God’s
patience will come to an end with the sinners of this planet and wrath
will come upon them. There is a time of trouble which is soon to come
upon our world which we know to be at least 7 years in duration. At the
time of this Divine wrath God will remove His people from the planet,
including all the children. Those that are ready and living faithfully
for the Saviour will be caught away to Heaven to be with the Lord, then
Divine judgement will fall upon our world. Jesus warned us about being
ready always for His coming as did the old testament and new testament
prophets.
Our
gathering together to the Lord (commonly referred to as the Rapture, or
catching away) could literally happen at any time now, so we must stay
ready always. This world will be no place to be when God is angry. The
only guarantee from the Scriptures we have of being raptured is that we
be “ready”. Being a Christian does not mean you are ready. You need
to be waiting, living a clean holy life and faithfully serving Jesus
with your lamp burning – not sleeping spiritually as many are today. I
will close with a couple of passages from the Word, first from the Lord
Jesus and second from the apostle Paul, concerning being ready for this
great event and concerning the rapture of the Church.
You
are in my heart and most days of the year you are prayed for as a person
on this Pastors Heart list. If you have sent an email that hasn’t been
responded to please forgive us and send another one, as we get many of
them and time is limited as you well know I’m sure. We are living in
the fast lane these days. I hope 2010 is your best year ever and that
you bear much fruit for the Master. God bless you!
David
“So
you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is
coming. Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was
coming, he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into.
You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when
least expected Matthew 24:42-44 (NLT)
We
tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the
Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the
Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the
Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together
with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught
up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the
Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words 1Thessalonians
4:15-18 (NLT)

The Coming Kingdom
I heard a loud shout from the throne,
saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them,
and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every
tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or
pain. All these things are gone forever.”
Revelation 21:3-4 (NLT)
