If you are a believer
the kingdom of God is within you, praise the Lord! There are many great truths
in the New Testament revealing who we are in Christ. If we are born from above
then we belong to Jesus and are living in Him…
Therefore,
if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed
away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of
God 2Cor 5:17
We
don’t have to live in ourselves or live by our own strength or ability any
more. We have a new identity and it is in Him. As exciting as this is
there is one thing that should thrill us even more than that. Not only are we
living in Him, but He is living in us. Just think about it for a moment –
God living in me. God living in you. Wow! This is not an easy thought for our
mind to grasp but it is true because it is written in the Scriptures. We have
to look into the holy truths of the Word of God and there we will find God
living inside each of His true children, check it out
Do
you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells
in you? 1Cor 3:16
Or
do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you,
whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at
a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are
God's 1Cor 6:19-20
And
what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the
living God 2Cor 6:16a
You
are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you
is greater than he who is in the world 1John 4:4
It
is no wonder that the kingdom of God is within us because “He” is within
us. If you are in Christ, He is right there in you wherever you are and in
whatever you are doing - right now. Remember, the kingdom of God is where a
king has his domain. It is where his or her rule is from. Because God lives
inside of the believer this is where He desires to rule from. His desire is to
rule and reign through you in your life and circumstances, and what better way
could there be than to come and live on the inside. It is an awesome thought
and it is a very humbling experience to realise that the Creator God of the
universe has chosen to come and live inside of each of His children. Of course
it is not because we deserve it and most definitely not because we have earned
it. It is only through the goodness and mercy of God through Jesus that allows
God to come near to you and I. The perfect Sacrifice has
been made once and for all so that the Almighty God can come near to those who
call upon His name.
After Jesus was raised from the dead He
appeared to His disciples and breathed on them saying receive the
Holy Spirit John 20:22b. This is what happened to each of us
at the time of the new birth, our spirit man was re-created and then the Holy
Spirit came to live on the inside. You can’t get any closer than that hey?
You see, God’s love for people is so great that He does not only desire to
come live near us, but in us... the kingdom of God is within you. I
encourage you to allow God to do a great work in your life by yielding to the
Greater One who lives on the inside. God is with us 24/7 and has the ability
and power to rise up on the inside and cause you and I to succeed in this
life, but we have to cooperate with Him. Our heart, or spirit is like a
container that is able to hold things. We are able to hold as much of God in
our life that we are willing to allow Him access and free reign. God has a
kingdom that He wishes to establish through us and if we will work with Him,
and allow Him to work through us, we will accomplish great things for the
kingdom of God.
If we will fill our heart with good things, then that which
is good can flow out. But if we will allow our heart to be filled with evil
things, then that which is evil will flow out. Jesus lives on the inside and
desires for good only to enter our heart so that we are filled with that which
is good, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, see Matt
12:34b. Make it a daily priority to fill your heart with the words of God
so that God has something to work with in your life. As we see in the
Scriptures concerning the Holy Spirit working with the disciples after the
time of Jesus’ resurrection... the Lord working with them and confirming
the word through the accompanying signs. Amen. Mark 16:20b God
watches over His word to perform it and notice that it was His word He was
working with through the disciples. He works with His word, and if His word is
living in our heart and we are yielding to its demands, God is able to perform
that which is good in our life.
My
son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let
them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are
life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart
with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Proverbs
4:20-23

The Kingdom Within
Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; “nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
