Hi Folks!

I preached a message to our LWF Family yesterday and I though it would be good to share some of it with you. As you may remember there is still a message or two continuing on from the last ones where I talked about "receiving from God" that I have not yet finished. I will do that but felt this was necessary first. There are a few thoughts and attitudes I believe absolutely vital if we are going to receive from the Lord; and not only that but they are necessary if we are to even finish the race at all!

Over the years I have seen many folks going on with God and really enjoying their Christianity. They are happy and full of life and vigour no matter what their circumstances may be dictating. On the other hand, I've seen just as many it seems, that are negative and sad a lot of the time and are not even enjoying their Christianity at all. In fact many of them are not even serving the Lord anymore! Somewhere along the way something went wrong. For many, they simply have become dissatisfied with their Christianity and given up. I know as you do that there can be many reasons for this but hopefully some of the thoughts I am about to share will help you not fall into the same pitfalls many of our brethren have fallen into. We need to pray for them to return to their first love, and for their lives to be restored.

Knowing the Creator and doing His will are the only things that will fill the "empty hole" in the hearts of people. There is a place in the heart of each individual that is reserved for Him only. To be truly satisfied in this life we must walk with the Lord and know that our lives are pleasing to Him. These two are fundamental and yes there are many more things in life that can help bring personal satisfaction to the soul. But there are a few attitudes that if not kept in check, can do damage to our relationship with the Lord and with people also. If these attitudes are not exercised on a daily basis, we may well fall into the category of the "unsatisfied" ones, and even fall away from knowing the Lord and His great love.

The message yesterday was meant to be liberating and I believe it was, but it also has a sobering aspect to it. We each need to work out our salvation daily as the scriptures declare in Phil 2:12. We each need to take heed to our lives every day as absolutely no one is exempt from falling in this life - from any level...

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall 1Cor 10:12

The Lord gave me 4 keys as I was in prayer yesterday morning that are needed in order to live a fulfilled satisfied life in Christ Jesus. They are very simple and easy to be applied in our life if we will determine to practice them daily. They are attitudes more than anything and these will help keep you on the pathway of life. Satisfaction is found there and if you will remain on it all of your needs, wants and desires will be fulfilled. Applying these attitudes will get you back onto the path if you have strayed.

1. Gratefulness

Are you grateful for what the Lord Jesus has done for you or have you forgotten the awesome price that was necessary for Him alone to pay for the ransom of your soul? Are you grateful that you don't have to die a sinners death and spend eternity in the lake of fire? Are you enjoying the present moment or has life become a drag to you? Are you enjoying the journey or do you wish it would just end?

2. Thankfulness

Are you thankful for where you have been on the path to where you are now, or do you wish you were back there? Are you thankful for where you are right now on the pathway to where you are going? Are you thankful for the good things in your life right now, or are you having difficulty seeing them because you are overwhelmed with the present difficulties and problems? Are you thankful the Lord has a future and a hope for you that's more awesome and brilliant than any human mind can conceive?

3. Appreciation

Do you appreciate the fact that you are alive right now and still have the right of choice for your eternal future? You were born for such a time as this or God would have had you born at another time - do you appreciate this? Do you appreciate the fact that the air that you are now breathing has been given to you by God as a necessary commodity for your survival? Do you appreciate the good things God has had people do for you or have you just taken it for granted?

4. Joyfulness
Are you full of joy right now or are you sad or even angry? Many of us are so spiritually weak because we have no joy. The scriptures declare that the joy of the Lord is our strength. see Neh 8:10. Have you let somebody or even the devil steal the joy of your salvation? Maybe your strong and full of joy right now and are ready to tackle anything that comes your way with the strength and power of Almighty God. If you have lost your joy then you can according to the scriptures rejoice and get it all back!

These attitudes of gratefulness, thankfulness, appreciation and joyfulness are all choices that only you and I have the power to control. It's not what happens to you but how you react that really matters in this life. A good attitude will put you over. Your attitude will determine your altitude and only you have the power over it. I've sown a few seeds only and will continue on with the subject some more in the next message. Life is a journey and if we are to get to where we want to be then we are to enjoy it and maintain a grateful, thankful, appreciative and joyful attitude.

God bless you richly as you serve the Lord!

David
