Hi Folks!

Here's one last message on the Lord's Prayer. Did you notice that the prayer both begins and ends with God? It begins with us blessing our Father's Holy Name, and it ends with us recognizing that the kingdom and the power and the glory all belong to Him. The prayer is divine in origin as it comes from the Creator Himself. It is packed with power and it is totally unselfish. It focuses on...

1. The Lord
2. His will on the earth
3. His will in our lives

You will also notice that it is in the middle of the prayer where the Lord will have us make our requests - namely...

1. Give us this day our daily bread
2. Forgive us our sins as we forgive...
3. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us...

Even then the requests are not totally personal because the term "us" is used in each of the three instances.

The Lord's Prayer is selfless and it helps us to focus on God and on His will and purposes. We are taught through it to not only pray for ourselves but for each other. The benefit of such a prayer is that our lovely Father will...

1. Meet all of our needs in every area of our life
2. Forgive us of our sins
3. Deliver us from all evil

Jesus is our Deliverer and He has come to set the captives free. Whatever you and I were, or are still captive to - the Lord Jesus is anointed to deliver us from it. Whether it is sickness, disease, fear, or lack of any kind, the Lord Jesus will set us free from it if we will only believe and trust Him for it.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all those that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38

As we grow up in Christ Jesus in obedience to Him in all things, we begin to receive the blessings from God in every area of our life.

If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. Job 36:11

God our Father will answer your prayers as you cry out to Him in faith. The humble will be exalted. Let us never forget that it's His kingdom we are building and not our own; it's His power that is causing us to prosper and bring deliverance to the masses and not our own power; and remember to always give Him the praise and the honour and the glory for all the good that is done, and not try to bring glory and praise to ourselves. It's no mistake that His mighty prayer finishes with, "For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen."

Let's pray together...

Father, we thank you for our Lord Jesus Christ who gave us such a might prayer and life to follow. We are grateful for all that You have done in our life and for all that You are about to do in the days to come. We pray that You will bring glory to yourself through us, your children, and that multitudes will be swept into your kingdom as we live our lives for Jesus. We promise to give You all the praise and honour and glory for all the good that is done - to Your eternal glory. Amen!

David

For Yours is the Kingdom...

Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. "In this manner therefore pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

Matthew 6:8-13
