Hi Folks - Merry Christmas!
This is the time we remember the birth of our great King Jesus! I'm so glad
that He came aren't you? I pray that you and I will finish the rest of 2005
strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, and that 2006 will be your
best year ever. Even though the darkness is increasing around us, we will
arise and shine and do great exploits in His name to the glory of our Father.
May we walk well pleasing to Him in 2006 and cause multitudes to flow into
the Kingdom of our God. Together we can do it.
Continuing on from the last Ps Heart message where I looked at three ways
in which the Lord feeds us daily bread. Our Father loves us and cares
for our well being in every area of our life. He desires that we prosper and
be in health (see 3John 2). Like any good father He desires
the very best for His children. He knows full well what we have need of, but
He still requires us to ask Him for it. Notice we are to ask Him
- not people.
There is a lot of begging going on out there in the Body of Christ and this
is not God's way. We are to look to Him for our supply and not people. Even
though He may choose to use people as an avenue of blessing, we are to keep
our hope and trust in Him. The moment we start begging people for help we
have stopped trusting God. He is more than capable of taking care of each
and every one of us if we will but trust Him and use the faith He has given
us. The scriptures declare He knows what we have need of ... Our God is all
knowing. He knows us better than we know ourselves... much better! He is always
looking out for our interests and He is thinking about us continually. Have
a look at the following scriptures from the Psalms and see how much He surely
loves us as His thoughts toward us are innumerable!
How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable!
I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake
up in the morning, You are still with me! Psalm 139:17-18
(NLT)
As we ask this day for our daily bread, the Lord will go to work
to get it to us. But understanding the ways in which the supply will come
will greatly enhance our ability to receive, and we won't be as likely to
let the blessings pass us by. Let's look a little further at the three main
avenues by which our daily bread comes to us.
1. His Word
If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed, and you shall know
the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8: 31-32
(NKJ)
You notice it's not the Word that you know about or
once heard about that makes you free. It's the Word that is "living"
in you that makes the difference. The scriptures declare Jesus as the living
Word. He is the "Bread" from heaven that we are to feed on each
and every day if we are to be well nourished and strong spiritually. God will
speak to us and guide and direct our lives each and every day through His
living Word that abides in our heart. If we will make feeding on His Word
a daily priority, then go ahead and obey it as the Lord Himself speaking and
giving instructions we will be blessed indeed.
2. His Presence
The difference between true Christianity and all the other religions of the
world is that our God is living and we can know Him intimately. His presence
is so beautiful and satisfying. We were created to fellowship with the Creator
Himself and nothing else will truly satisfy. We are to not just know "about"
God but to know Him intimately as a treasured friend and to know His voice.
If we will spend the time and effort to draw near to God, as He has promised
in His Word He will draw near to us. Many will be bitterly disappointed on
that great "Day" when the Lord will look into their eyes and says
"I never knew you." This should be the number one desire of every
believer ....... to "know" God, not just to know about Him.
3. His People
Not one of us stands alone as a Christian for each of us are a part of one
great big family. We are the Body of Christ. Just as our physical body has
many parts to it that are each joined together in a marvellous way, so is
the Church body to be joined together. You and I need each other more than
I think we often realise. That's why it is so important for believers to come
together and fellowship, as God speaks to us often through each other. None
of us individually know it all, nor do we have all the gifts, but all of us
put together have it all. If we will each find our place in the Body of Christ
and band together, we will not only be more effective as we work together
but we will be satisfied knowing we are where we are meant to be. It's so
very important to have the Lord direct you to the church He has chosen for
you, and then be faithful there and let your roots grow down deep as you faithfully
serve the Lord in His vineyard. The local church body that loves the Lord
is a safe place for you and your family to be, and God will feed you there,
and speak into your life through the leadership He has appointed.
God bless you richly as you live your life for Him!

Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. "In
this manner therefore pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your
kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive our debtors. And
do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours
is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
Matthew 6:8-13
