Hi Folks!
As I've mentioned in previous teachings on the Lord's Prayer, Jesus not only instructed us to pray this way but He showed us the way through the life He lived. Jesus didn't come to live for Himself but to live a life of obedience to the One who sent Him. He is our perfect example of a life yielded to the will of Another, and each of us as Christians have been called to live this same way... not my will but Yours be done.

For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. John 6:38

You and I are here on earth for the same purpose - to do the will of our Master.

... as the Father has sent Me, I also send you. John 20:21

Dear people, this should be a cause of great rejoicing amongst the Church, to know we have been called to do the will of the Creator Himself! But it's a sad fact that many a believer have only given lip service to doing the will of God. It's one thing to pray Your will be done, but it takes obedience and commitment to do the will of God. We have to make a daily choice that we are going to live for God and not for ourselves.

And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 2Cor 5:15

Our Father God desires to do His will on the earth through each and every one of us, but we have to be in a position of willingness and obedience to His will for Him to do it. What good is it to say all the right things and even pray the right way, without obeying the One we are praying to or even having the right heart.

For example, it is our Father's will that none perish but that all be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth (see 1Tim 2:3-4). If we want the will of God to be done then this should become our will also, to love people and have them know the Lord. Before anything else, the King has commanded us to love our fellow brother and sister in Christ. But there is so much division amongst the ranks in so many areas, with brothers and sisters walking out of love with each other. We have been biting and devouring each other through finding fault with each other, judging one other, and holding offences against each other just to name a few. I say "we" because none of us stand alone in this - we are all in this together as one huge family of believers around the entire world.

Many Christians say they love God but they don't even like being around other believers. I've even heard comments like "I love God, but it's just other Christians that I don't like". This is scripturally impossible! Loving people and wanting to be with them is evidence of our love for the Lord. Some believers even struggle to gather in Church one day a week, let alone any other day during the week within Church group activities. There has to be something wrong here!

It is now estimated that the majority of Christians are not vitally involved in a local Church. This is a primary reason why so many Christians remain weak, defeated, and often manifest the opposite to the fruit of the Spirit. They fall into many of the devil's traps and many even turn completely away from Christ. God wants His family together. Church life is not an option for true Christianity - it is essential. This does not mean just showing up for a service here and there, but being involved in Church life. Everyone has a part they should play in their houses at home, just as we should all have a part in God's house. This is just fundamental stuff to our Christianity, but many are even falling way short of even fulfilling the fundamentals. Lets pray that God's people will "arise" and seek His will in all they do. Pray like never before for His will to be done in us and through us for His eternal glory.

Our great God has a dream and that dream is the redemption of the human race. His will is not only to redeem us from hell, but to bless us beyond our wildest dreams and imaginations. Jesus has already paid the ultimate price for everyone's salvation, healing and total life prosperity, and these are all found in His perfect will. I encourage each and every one of you to seek His will in everything you do. There is nothing more fulfilling or rewarding than serving the Lord because we love Him and we love the people that He died for. If we will do the will of God for our own life, then God is in a position to use us and flow through us with His great love to others.

This is God's will, to use you and I for His eternal purposes. Through the abundant life He has given us in Christ we will get the job done. Amen.

love David

Your Will Be Done

"In this manner therefore pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

Matthew 6:9-13
