Hi Folks!
Well it's good to be back on the laptop writing to you all again. The first part of 2005 for me has been a drawing near to God in my heart. I want to serve Him and be pleasing to Him more than anything. I am so blessed to have a lovely wife, three great young men as my sons, a loving family and special friends both here in Australia and around the world. God has been so good to me and has given to me such a loving family and friends, and not only that, He has faithfully met my every need. Never has there been a time in my life when I haven't had food on my table and a roof over my head. My dear Father God has been so kind and generous towards me and I am eternally grateful.

But do you know what? There are often times when I have felt empty miserable and unsatisfied! Looking back on my life I can easily see those times were when I was not close to Him. One of the greatest opportunities ever offered to me or to anyone else was the invitation to draw near to the Creator Himself. Although such a good life has been granted me, to draw away from the Lord has only caused emptiness inside. Only He can satisfy!

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you... James 4:7

...but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him. Hebrews 10:38

Only God through our Lord Jesus Christ can fill the void in the heart and souls of mankind. There is a place in the life of every human created, reserved only for Him. If we will draw near He will draw near. This is our calling - to walk with God, but it's you and I that make the first move. If we will determine to reach out to the Lord with all of our being, He will respond with His great love and provision, and satisfy our every need. You and I are the ones who determine how much of God we have in our life - not Him.

Jesus walked close to the Father when he was on the earth. His made comments like "I and My Father are one" and "I don't do anything but what I first see My Father do". Jesus was so full of life and wonder. Wherever He went divine love and power flowed out of Him. Multitudes were touched through His ministry. Demons were expelled and the sick were made whole. Miracles were commonplace and even the dead were raised to life on numerous occasions. His preaching and teaching were with such grace and authority that the people were amazed. Multitudes flocked around Him many a time just to hear His gracious words and to sit at His feet. He had an answer for everybody and the mouths of the hypocritical religious leaders were silenced because of the wisdom of God that flowed from His lips.

The disciples were with the Lord through all of His personal ministry. It must have been very impressive to have walked with the Master and to have witnessed first hand His mighty works. They saw peoples lives changed right in front of their eyes. Jesus never refused to heal anybody. He took the requests of the people seriously and never do we see Him refuse to offer help to those that humbly asked for it.

You will notice those closest to Him weren't as impressed with His mighty works as one may think. They were much more impressed with His life and that's what they desired! They wanted to be like Jesus and what did they ask for? "Lord teach us to pray". They could see that it was His relationship and close walk with his Father God that brought the results everyone could see.

Jesus loved his Father and it was evident by the life He lived. As His "custom" was He rised up early to pray. As awesome as His life was, it was His prayer life that was the most impressive. Prayer always came before the power. You and I will walk in that same power as long as we live the life He lived. This is our calling to walk close to the Master and do the works He did.

Our lives must be a life of prayer if we are to call ourselves Christians. Many people in these days are laying the life of intimacy with their Creator aside and are more interested in other things. Friendship with God is not their primary focus. I believe we must get back to the basics of our Christianity if we have strayed and live a life close to Him. It's time to demonstrate His love to the people of the world. I feel led to go back to the answer Jesus gave His disciples when He gave them the example of how they ought to pray. If you will allow me in the weeks to come I will share some thoughts on the Lord's prayer, as we seek to live a life of intimacy with God.

But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpents cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
2Corinthians 11:3 (NIV)

Your Kingdom Come

"In this manner therefore pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Your's is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

Matthew 6:9-13
