Hi Folks!
Faith is a living, moving, active force and it's life is in words. You will
recall in our teaching that it is possible for faith to lay dormant in the
heart of a believer, and that corresponding works of obedience are necessary
to activate that faith and produce results. James 2:26
says, faith without works (corresponding actions) is dead. Remember
from Romans 10:17 that faith comes by hearing and hearing
by the Word of God. This is because God's words are filled with faith.
Faith filled words are powerful. Hebrews 1:3 declares that God is at present
upholding all things (the whole universe) by the Word of His power! That
includes you and me. That is how we got here in the beginning, through the
spoken Word of God. When God said Let there be light, what happened?
There was light wasn't there, and scientists say we are still seeing the
universe expanding at lights speed until this very moment.
Faith is released through action, and faith's primary action is in spoken words. Let me say it again... faith's primary action is in spoken words. Faith speaks! Faith is not quiet... it always has something to say. In this Ps Heart teaching I want to talk about the significance of saying. What we are truly believing is reflected in what we are saying, as our text in 2Cor 4:13 says. What we are saying can and does affect our believing. Words are powerful and I don't think we have been putting enough emphasis on their importance in our day to day lives. Our Lord Jesus considers what we are saying as very important so therefore we should also.
Look at this... "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgement. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." Matthew 12:36-37
No word that flows from the lips of a human being is without significance. Words are powerful, and within each one is creative power. Words are like little containers and each container is filled with something. We can bless with our words or we can curse with our words. Words can either be filled with faith or they can be filled with fear. Words can be used to create good or they can be used to create evil in our lives. Proverbs 18:21 declares, Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat it's fruit. Do you believe this? Do you believe that what you have been saying is related to the fruit you have been bearing? We can literally change our world around us by the words we are saying - for better or for worse.
Faith filled words in our heart, formed on our tongue, and spoken out of our mouth have creative power. According to the words of the Master we can have what we say if we believe and doubt not in our heart. Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. For assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea', and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says" Mark 11:22-23. If you'll have a closer look you will notice Jesus mentions believing one time and saying three times. He places three times more significance on the saying part than on the believing part. If we will get our words right then our believing will be right, and if our believing is right we will have the victory each and every time - hallelujah!
Saints of God, we need to check up on ourselves continually to see if what
we have been saying are faith filled words. It should be our "lifestyle"
as believers to have our every conversation filled with words of life and
encouragement. We should not only be speaking this way in Church on Sunday,
but in each and every moment of every day. Yes, I am sounding a bit extreme
here but our Lord Jesus was this way while He was on the earth and we should
be imitating Him. The Father anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit without
measure because He spoke the words of Life only, the Bible says. He was
innocent and no guile was found in His mouth. He spoke the truth only by
choosing His words carefully.
The Father will use you and I in the same way He used Jesus as we order
our conversation aright and let our faith do the talking. We live in a society
today that are loose with their words. They joke around and speak little
untruths in the name of humour. To belittle a leader to our friends behind
their back, or to openly run one in authority down with the words of our
mouth is so evil in the eyes of the Lord, but in society it has become the
norm now. Folks, this should not be the case with you and I as believers
and it's time to raise the standard. I will close now with some scriptures
for you to meditate on. Speak these words out loud over and over and let
your mind be illuminated with Truth.
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation
of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord my strength and my Redeemer.
James 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and
cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.
Proverbs 4:24 (NIV) Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the
Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight.
Proverbs 13:3 (NIV) He who guards his lips guards his
life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.
Proverbs 18:7,21 (NLT) The mouths of fools are their
ruin; their lips get them into trouble... Those who love to talk will experience
the consequences, for the tongue can kill or nourish life.
Ephesians 4:29,15 Let no corrupt communication proceed
out of your mouth but what is good for necessary edification, that it may
impart grace to the hearers... but speaking the truth in love may grow up
in all things into Him who is the head - Christ.
Psalm 141:3 Set a guard O Lord over my mouth: Keep
watch over the door of my lips.
Psalm 139:4 For there is not a word on my tongue, but
behold O Lord You know it altogether.
God bless you richly

Since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I
believed and therefore I spoke", we also believe and therefore speak.
