Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit which is the Word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints."
Ephesians 6:10-18 (NKJ)
Hi Folks!
I read Rick Joyner's book The Final Quest for the first time years ago in
which Rick received a vision from the Lord of the army of God. In the vision
only a few members of this army had on their armour, and many of them had
on only a single piece or two. The result was that they were easily defeated
by the enemy.
I've watched, and have seen this very thing happen within the church over and over again. You may be thinking 'I believe God will protect me because He loves me'. Yes He does protect you, with the armour He provided you to wear. The armour is crucial or it would not have been given to us. Of course the Lord can protect us much more than that too, but for the moment let's discuss this armour He has given us to wear. I will not talk about each part of the armour today but in future articles I will give a more detailed description of each piece and how we are to wear it.
Saints, you will notice as you read these scriptures in Eph 6 that we are in a battle. We are living in the last days and we are at war with a merciless outlaw, the terrorist himself...Satan and his demonic horde. He thinks nothing of stealing, killing and destroying innocent lives if he's given half a chance. He's the master of deception and is hiding behind many different kinds of forms, fashions and ideas, and though we may not be aware of it he is there with one purpose in mind; to steal, kill and destroy.
Folks, the good news though is that you have been given pieces of armour for your own protection and deliverance. This armour is so powerful that it will surely protect you and bring deliverance to your life in every area if you use it effectively. There are also pieces of the armour that you can use to attack the enemy with and bring liberty to a fallen friend.
You see, according to the bible we shouldn't be at war with each other. If we are going to do any wrestling at all it should be with the devil and his wicked forces that have been arrayed against us and our loved ones. Let's recognise who our real enemy is and attack him with all we've got with the truth of God's Word. Like Joshua said many years ago "Let's fight for our brothers and fight for our sisters!"
As I close for now look at these words and phrases from our Ephesians 6 text and recognise that we each have a responsibility to be dressed for success, with the whole armour of God on.
"wrestle, take up, withstand, having done all to stand, taking the shield, take the helmet, praying always, being watchful"
Have a good day soldier

"Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles
of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual
hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armour
of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done
all, to stand.
