Eternal Life - text
Eternal life can only be found in Jesus Christ. Life on this earth is only for a relatively short period of time – it is a temporary journey. Whether we live to a full age or die young, compared to the expanse of time in eternity it is very brief. The Bible calls our life on earth a vapour. Our short time here is like a cloud that forms in the sky and then disappears forever.
Every creature the Lord God has created on earth eventually dies and returns to the dust from which it was created. But you and I as humans are different in that we have been made in the similitude and likeness of the Creator himself – born with an eternal soul who possesses a will of its own. Every human that has ever been born of a woman is still alive some place, because spiritual beings never cease to exist. The body may perish but the soul lives on with the same likeness and character that we once knew before, except in a different location.
The question we should be asking of our self is not “will I continue to exist and live on after I die?” but “where will I be living?”. The Lord has not left us with a lot of options as to where we can live – but two only, Heaven or Hell. The Lord has set before each eternal soul the sovereign choice of Life or Death. The Bible speaks clearly of this. We have been left with only one of two choices to make, of which the Lord recommends... “Choose life!” Because eternal life can only be found through Jesus, then He is the one we must choose to live for.
Jesus is the Saviour of all mankind and He is the only One with the God given power and authority to wash away our sins with His own blood, and to present us spotless before His Father in Heaven. When our first parents Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of Eden, sin entered into the hearts of all mankind and the world became a cursed place. But even still, His creativity and beauty can still been seen and understood in the creation. God is completely holy and when we sinned we were left without hope because sin must be judged wherever it is found.
But God, because of His great love and compassion toward mankind developed a plan to purchase us back, through the death burial and resurrection of His only begotten Son. The Lord Jesus humbled himself and became a man like us, so as to be able to purchase us back to Himself through the sacrifice of His own self on the cross. The great God man suffered a terrible and cruel sinners death paying the price for your sins and mine. He lived pure, holy and righteous before His Father while walking the earth during His short life and ministry. He did nothing to deserve the hatred, shame, mocking, beating, scourging, torture, cruelty and ultimate destruction after enduring that terrible cross. It was all done with you and I in mind. It was done for our benefit, that we may find access back to God the Father and live forever in peace joy and happiness.
The reward for not accepting God’s offer of eternal life through Jesus, is everlasting hell fire, torment, pain, sadness, inexpressible grief and sorrow and ultimate separation from God for all eternity. It is death and destruction in which there is no reversal. Once the judgement has been set for that lost soul it can never be reversed. They are lost forever in hell and in the lake of fire, which was created for the devil and his fallen angels. All that was ever good in that person’s life can never be found again – only the torturous memory and regrets of what I should have done to avoid this place of torment. This is the very sad end of all who reject the Lord’s most precious gift of His Son Jesus, or who refuse to live according to His standard of holiness, obedience and love.
If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, or if you are not living for Him as you should, today is your day to come to Him. It is not too late for you if you desire the Lord he can still be found. He is able to forgive you, wash you clean, give you a brand new start and welcome you into the family of Almighty God! He is as close to you as your next breath and is waiting for you to come to Him with open arms. Let us pray together (out load with your own mouth) calling on the name of the Lord. Admit that you have sinned before a holy God. Confess all of your sins to Him and turn completely away from them, feeling sorry for what you have done to the One who loves you the most... let us pray together something like this, or in your own words as you give your life and sovereign will to God...
Dear Father God I come to you in prayer. I am a sinner and I ask for Your mercy. I have sinned against you and I have sinned against heaven. I believe that Jesus Christ is your Son and that He died on the cross for my sins and that You raised Him from the dead on the third day. Please forgive me. I turn away from my sins and all that I have done to hurt and offend You (confess them openly and honestly before a Holy God who knows already everything about you). I repent of sin and I renounce the past. Lord Jesus come into my life and make me a brand new person by forgiving me and washing away my sins. Give me a new heart to love You and obey you for the rest of my life. I want to know you and live for you. I confess you Jesus as my Lord (Master) and Saviour. Thank You for saving me and bringing me into the kingdom of our Father in heaven. I love you Jesus and I owe my life and eternal soul to you – hallelujah (praise the Lord!) amen (so be it!)
God bless you friend, welcome to the Family! I wish to meet you one day. I pray that you will be faithful and live for Jesus the rest of your days. Here are a few pointers and some suggested resources to help get you started:
- Pray to God always, read the Bible every day and do what it says.
- Ask the Lord to help you find other true Bible believing Christians that you can fellowship with and who will encourage you in your walk with the Master.
- Get baptised in water as Jesus commanded us - go public with your salvation and tell someone else what God has done for you.
- Be filled with the Holy Spirit as promised in the Bible, to enable you to walk in total victory in your Christian walk and to give you power to be an effective witness for Him on the earth. Beneath is some teaching from Bro Kenneth Copeland on how to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

John3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
Romans 10:8-10 But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Psalm 51:1-17 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight —That You may be found just when You speak, and blameless when You judge. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me. Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, The God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart —These, O God, You will not despise.

How to Receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit

When you receive Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, spiritual death is taken from you and you become a new creature in Christ. And without the Holy Spirit, your new birth wouldn’t be possible. But even after you become a new creation, God’s desire and plan is that you receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Your baptism in the Holy Spirit is received by faith. Jesus said in Luke 11:13, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” When you ask in faith, the Holy Spirit comes to live in you. And when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, as in the book of Acts, you speak in tongues.

Speaking in tongues is simply speaking in a language that only God understands—even you won’t understand it. This happens as the Holy Spirit prays through you about things you may not know about or may not know how to pray about (Romans 8:26).

The Holy Spirit was sent to be our Helper. So when you pray in tongues, what actually happens is that the Holy Spirit searches your heart and prays through you the perfect will of God (Romans 8:26-27). You actually utter the secret truths and hidden things which are not obvious to the understanding of your mind (I Corinthians 14:2, The Amplified Bible).

To pray in tongues, you need to realize that speaking with an unknown tongue is the voice of your heart. Speaking in a known tongue is the voice of the human mind (unless one of the vocal gifts of the nine gifts of the Spirit is in operation). The Holy Spirit of God will give you utterance, the same as your mind gives you thoughts to speak (Acts 2:4).

To speak in tongues, you must operate with the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul said in I Corinthians 14:14, “For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive…” (The Amplified Bible).

Notice that it was Paul who did the speaking. Ask the Holy Spirit to take charge of your tongue, then yield your tongue to His use. You cannot speak in your own language and tongues at the same time, just as you cannot speak with English and French at the same time. When your voice and tongue begin forming syllables around the expression that your heart desires to release, you will also speak in tongues. It will be your tongue, your breath, your vocal cords and you will be actively forming words. You will supply the sounds, but the Holy Spirit will supply the words—words unknown to you. It may seem awkward to you at first, but continue. Like a child learning to speak, you will grow.

Finally, as you seek the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, you need not wait to get a word from God about it—you already have His Word—nor do you need to wait around for the Spirit. The Spirit of God entered His ministry on the Day of Pentecost and He has been here ever since. He has never left!

Furthermore, you need not be concerned over being deceived and ending up with something that is from the devil. When you ask your heavenly Father for one of His promises—as the Baptism in the Holy Spirit—you can be confident the gift given is from God, not Satan.

Remember, Luke 11:13 says, “…how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” So if you want to receive your baptism in the Holy Spirit, ask Him now.

“Heavenly Father, I am a believer. I am Your child and You are my Father. Jesus is my Lord. I believe with all my heart that Your Word is true.

“Your Word says if I will ask, I will receive the Holy Spirit. So in the Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, I am asking You to fill me to overflowing with Your precious Holy Spirit. Jesus, baptize me in the Holy Spirit.

“Because of Your Word, I believe that I now receive and I thank You for it. I believe the Holy Spirit is within me and, by faith, I accept it.

“Now, Holy Spirit, rise up within me as I praise God. I fully expect to speak with other tongues, as You give me the utterance.”

Now begin giving sound to the expressions in your heart. Speak and hear the Holy Spirit speaking through you.

Rejoice! You’ve just been baptized in the Holy Spirit! You’ve been endued with power—hallelujah!
